e-Learning Pedagogy
Welcome to my home page that links to a series of three short courses that I offer on the pedagogy of on-line learning. These courses have been adapted so that they can be delivered on line.
Each course will require a total four hours of on-line work over a period of four weeks, one hour per week. For further information about timing see the schedule for Session 01.
Please Note:
These courses are not about teaching
you how to upload material into WebCT or about the mechanics of using this
software. It is assumed that you have already taken the basic WebCT courses
run by ILS.
In these courses you may learn more using electronic media to enhance your learning by considering :
- The different electronic techniques available to enhance student learning and how these techniques might be used appropriately;
- How to set up effective on-line discussions and activities that are appropriate and facilitate student learning;
- The use of electronic media to facilitate formative and summative assessment.
These pages have been set up to complement other material which is available on WebCT. Before you start the course proper you should do the introductory activity for your course on WebCT. For more information use the "Introductory Activity" link on the left menu.
