To some extent the type of activity that is used
depends upon the nature of the subject being taught.
Activities might take a number of forms:
introductory activities to allow familarisation with the technology and
the building of an on-line community;
information gathering activites which allow students to locate information
on-line and publish it;
information storing activities that allow students or groups of students
to store information online so that they and their peers can refer to it
later;
information seeking activities where students place material on line
to elicit an evaluative response from their peers or their tutor;
discussion promoting activities where students pose a question for others
to discuss allowing a debate to extend outside the "normal" class time;
