e-Learning: Using On-line Feedback

These activities looks at ways in which we can ensure that both students and tutors learn from using on-line assessment.

To help with this we need to consider what are the characteristics of an effective online feedback and what factors do we need to consider in designing such activities.

The online feedback activies below are designed to give you some experience of the concepts we shall discuss about producing effective on-line feedback activities. They are intended to be done as part of a face to face session in a blended learning mode.

  1. Activity 1: Go to the WebCT discussion area and answer the question for activity 1
You may need some help in doing this.
  2. Activity 2: Go to the WebCT discussion area and answer the question for Activity 2. You may want to take a look at what other people have said and comment on their work.
You may want to look at my comments on this activity.
  3. Activity 3: Now have a go at two differently designed learning activities and see if you can make some judgement as to their effectiveness. The first activity has minimal structure and the second has more detailed instructions.
Here are some comments about making activities work.
