3rd February: Session 01 OK: Introduction to the module

In the first session we will be looking at the different software tools that we will use to achieve our learning outcomes in this module

You will engage in activities to support your learning by building your confidence in the use of the tools and techniques and allowing you to discover for yourself the characteristics of "good web design".

10th February : Session 02  available: Basic CSS

In the second session we will remind ourselves about the basic ideas behind CSS.

17th February: Session 03 available: Getting to Grips with CSS

In the third session you will look at issues surrounding the idea of semantic markup.

24th February: Session 04 available: Using the box model

In the fourth session you will look at ways in which CSS can be used to render web pages differently.

3rd March: Session 05 available: Navigation using CSS

In the fifth session you will examine coding that will allow various forms of navigation.

10th March: Session 06 not yet available: Introducing XML

This week is an opportunity to get an introduction to XML

17th March: Session 07 not yet available: More about XML

formatting XML with CSS. Making Links using XML

24th March: Session 08 not yet available: An Introduction to XSLT

This session introduces you to the basic ideas of using Extensible Stylesheet Language transformations (XSLT) and locating within an XML documanr using XPath.

31st March: Session 09 not yet available: Further XSLT

This session shows you how to use XSLT to manipulate XHTML documents and gives you further practice in using XSLT.

Weeks beginning 6th April and 13th April : Easter break

Please note that there will be no taught sessions in these two weeks.

 

 

 

 

21st April : Session 10 not yet available: XSLT and XML. Pulling things together

In this session we will look at how to use XSLT with XML, look at your assignment and pull together the technologies you will need to operate effectively.

28th April : Session 11 available: Setting up your assignment

Here you will be given the opportunity to produce an outline of the tasks and information needed for your assignment.

5th May : Session 12 not yet available: Assignment Tutorials

Here you will be given the opportunity to discuss your assignment.
