Using the same information data set you are required to produce a series of information-based web pages for three different audiences e.g. the general web user, those who require printed copy and visually impaired students.
You should use ensure that all of your coding in XHTML , XML, XSLT , CSS and JavaScript conforms to an appropriate standard as defined in the W3C standards. You must be able to justify which standard you are using.
Your pages must be viewable on the World Wide Web, so you either need to be able to upload your web pages to an appropriate server or put them onto removable media to simulate a server environment.
A key requirement is that your pages are appropriately designed to achieve the stated goals and that the design can be justified in terms of the user requirements and a theoretical design framework.
You must also produce a 1000-1500 word report.
This should:
- Explain the main techniques used in producing your pages and how they produce appropriate output.
- Explain in detail why the resulting pages are appropriate for the particular end user.
- Discuss any problems you have had and how you overcame them together with a justification of any design decisions.
- Link your discussion into any theoretical models of design that you feel are appropriate explaining which ones you used and why they are appropriate for this task.
- You might also want discuss what you might have done to improve your web site given more time to master the technologies.
